The brand did not need to be invented. It only needed to be remembered.
Sant 88 is a functional olfactory statehood system rooted in five centuries of Javanese-Banjar royal fragrance lineage. Each formula is built on ancient grimoire records spanning Egypt, Java, Persia, and Greece, and formulated against documented neuroscience — the mechanisms by which specific aromatic compounds alter brainwave states, trigger parasympathetic response, and activate the limbic system's deepest memory structures.
This is not a fragrance brand with a heritage story added for marketing.
It is a heritage lineage that became a fragrance brand.
The Founder
Sofia Lane
Sofia Erica Lane is the founder of Sant 88 and a descendant of the Banjar Masin royal court of South Kalimantan through her maternal line.
She has spoken at the UN C3 Partnership Health Summit and FII Priority Hong Kong. She previously founded a postpartum nutraceuticals company that achieved national retail distribution in its first year. Sant 88 is her most personal work. It is also her most rigorous.
The brand was not built from the outside in , from market research, from trend analysis, from the question of what the fragrance industry was missing. It was built from the inside out: from the inherited knowledge of a lineage, from the question of what it would mean to make that knowledge available in a form the contemporary world could access.
The answer was this: a ritual fragrance system that does what ancient practitioners knew fragrance could do, formulated with the rigour of someone who understands both the ancient record and the neurochemistry, and packaged with the honesty of someone who does not need to invent the story because she was born into it.
